About 7 Wonders
As the leader of one of the seven greatest cities of the Ancient World, you are tasked with gathering essential resources, developing prosperous commercial routes, and securing your military supremacy. Over the course of three generations, you will build up your city and erect a magnificent architectural wonder that will transcend future times.
7 Wonders is a fast-paced card development and drafting game where players build their civilizations simultaneously. Each player commands a unique, double-sided player board that grants distinct special powers and tracks their wonder's construction progress. The game concludes at the end of the third age, and the player who has accumulated the most victory points through science, military, commerce, and civic buildings wins.
The gameplay flows through a continuous cycle of drafting and passing cards:
- Draft and Reveal: At the start of an age, players receive seven cards, secretly choose one to play, and simultaneously reveal their choices. Cards can be built for free, paid for with resources, or discarded for coins.
- Pass and Repeat: After revealing their card, players pass their remaining hand to their neighbor. This process repeats until everyone has placed six cards into their city, at which point the current age ends and military conflicts are resolved.
- Shifting Directions: Cards are passed left in the first age, right in the second, and left again in the third. Because every drafted card is played immediately, you must constantly monitor the developing strategies of the neighbors on both sides of you.
- Flexible Scalability: While the game beautifully accommodates large groups of up to seven players with zero downtime, the rules also include an official, dedicated two-player variant.
