Set in the breathtaking Pacific Northwest, Cascadia is a puzzly tile-laying and token-drafting game centered on creating harmonious ecosystems. Players compete to build the most diverse and interconnected terrain area, balancing the growth of sprawling natural habitats with the introduction of native wildlife species.

Each player begins their journey with a starting triplet of hexagonal habitat tiles featuring various terrains, such as mountains, forests, prairies, wetlands, and rivers. On your turn, you must draft a dynamic duo from a central market: a single habitat tile paired randomly with a wildlife token. The game rewards spatial optimization, as you strive to expand matching biomes while providing suitable homes for the region's animal residents.

Players must balance two distinct scoring mechanics as they expand their environments:

- Build Habitat Corridors: Connect matching terrain types to reduce fragmentation and build massive contiguous biomes, scoring points for your largest area of each habitat along with potential majority bonuses.

- Populate Wildlife: Place drafted animal tokens—representing bears, elks, salmon, hawks, and foxes—onto valid tiles to satisfy distinct scoring cards that change every game.

- Spend Nature Tokens: Utilize rare pinecone tokens earned by placing animals on specialized tiles to refresh the market or freely mix and match any tile and token on display.

- Optimize Animal Formations: Position your wildlife to meet their specific social desires, whether that means clustering salmon into long rivers, pairing up grizzly bears, or keeping majestic hawks isolated. The player who creates the most cohesive ecosystem and scores the most combined points wins.
