Castles Of Burgundy

Set in the Burgundy region of High Medieval France, players act as aristocrats seeking to expand their small princedoms. By drafting settlement tiles from a central board and placing them onto their personal map, players build powerful castles, establish trade, exploit silver mines, and deploy unique tile abilities to maximize their kingdom's potential.

The game spans five phases, each consisting of five rounds. Every round begins with players rolling two personal dice, which dictate the actions they can perform. A first-player goods die determines where new resources appear on the board, adding a layer of tactical planning to every round.

On their turn, players spend their dice to perform two of four core actions:

- Draft a settlement tile from the main board into their temporary staging area.

- Move a tile from the staging area into a matching, adjacent region of their princedom.

- Deliver goods from their supply that match the face value of a die.

- Hire worker tokens, which can be spent later to alter future dice rolls.

Additionally, players can spend silver once per turn to buy a tile from the central depot. The game concludes after the final phase, where victory points are tallied from completed regions, undelivered goods, leftover resources, and end-game bonus tiles. The aristocrat with the most points wins.
