About Exploding Kittens
Exploding Kittens is a highly strategic, kitty-powered version of Russian Roulette. Players take turns drafting cards from a shared deck, moving through the game with caution, as drawing a single Exploding Kitten immediately knocks a player out of the match. The tension scales dramatically with every turn, as the dwindling draw pile steadily increases the mathematical probability of encountering a fatal feline outburst.
The core deck is packed with tactical tools that allow players to manipulate the order of draw cards, mitigate risk, and sabotage opponents before taking a draw step:
- Defuse the Danger: Neutralize drawn Exploding Kittens using laser pointers, catnip sandwiches, or belly rubs to safely insert the kitten back into the deck at any secret location of your choice.
- Attack and Force Turns: Pass your mandatory draw step to the next player while forcing them to take multiple consecutive turns in a row.
- Manipulate the Deck: Use specialized action cards to peek at the top three cards of the deck, alter their order, or thoroughly shuffle the draw pile to disrupt an opponent's turn.
- Skip and Steal: Bypass your draw requirement instantly with Skip cards, or play matching Cat card pairs to steal valuable defuses and utility cards directly from an opponent's hand.
- Cancel Opponent Actions: Play Nope cards at any moment to invalidate an opponent's action, creating chaotic chains of counters and re-counters.
Players continue managing their hand, neutralizing threats, and directing danger toward rivals until only one survivor remains standing, declaring them the ultimate winner.
How to Play
- 1Draw a card each turn — avoid drawing an Exploding Kitten.
- 2Use action cards to skip, peek, or shuffle the deck to survive.
- 3Defuse an Exploding Kitten if you draw one and have a Defuse card.
- 4Last player left in the game wins.
