About Wingspan
Wingspan is a competitive, medium-weight, card-driven engine-building board game where players step into the shoes of passionate bird enthusiasts. As researchers, bird watchers, ornithologists, and collectors, your goal is to discover and attract the most spectacular birds to your expanding network of wildlife preserves. Every bird you attract extends a chain of powerful combinations within your distinct habitats, driving your ecological engine forward.
The game plays out over four rounds, with players managing their preserves across three specialized habitats. Each habitat corresponds to a fundamental action necessary for growth, allowing players to build increasingly complex strategies as their sanctuaries fill with life.
During the game, players manage their preserves through three key actions:
- Gain food tokens via custom dice rolled inside a thematic birdfeeder dice tower.
- Lay eggs using colorful egg miniatures to populate nests and fund future bird placements.
- Draw from hundreds of unique, beautifully illustrated bird cards and play them into their matching habitats.
- Complete diverse end-of-round goals and secret bonus objectives to maximize their efficiency. The winner is the player who has accumulated the most total points from birds, eggs, cached food, tucked cards, and objectives after the fourth round concludes.
How to Play

- 2Activate habitat rows to gain food, lay eggs, or draw cards.
